10 Spring Projects To Do To Prepare for Summer

Spring is probably my favorite season, although fall is a close second. Lol. After a long winter, I can’t wait to get started on indoor and outdoor projects. There are always things that need to be repaired, thrown out, or replaced.

It’s always a good idea to take inventory of the things you need before you head out to the home improvement store or garden center.

I recommend doing a brain dump. Let’s face it. You probably have dozens of ideas swirling around in your head that really need to be put down on paper so you don’t forget.

Walk around your house and try to look at each room from the eyes of a visitor. Because we live there, we don’t see peeling paint on the wall, cobwebs, or cluttered corners.

Write down everything that needs to be done. You can even take pictures with your phone or do a video, recording your ideas for each area.

10 spring projects to prepare for the summer.

  1. Plan a garden or new flower bed. Check out a good gardening book if you need help.

  2. Clean out your garage, shed, or both.

  3. Plan any summer travel.

  4. Search out berry picking farms in your area.

  5. Sign up for a class to learn a new hobby.

  6. Clean or update your patio furniture.

  7. Plan several short weekend trips.

  8. Plan several day trips to gardens, beaches, museums, ball parks, etc.

  9. Research state and national parks you’d like to visit.

  10. Plan several cookouts with family and friends.

Which of these sound like things you’d like to do to get ready for summer? If you don’t plan now, you’ll put it off and it probably won’t happen.

Have a family meeting and let everyone contribute. It’s important to start early so you can make sure it fits into your budget. Also, check to see if there are any restrictions or changes because of continually changing current events.

So. What’s your number 1 project you’d like to get done this spring?

Whatever you decide, make it fun and spend time with the ones you love.
